He is a member of HbK’s Construction Industry Group and received the designation of Certified Construction Industry Professional (CCIFP) from the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Professionals, Inc. (ICCIFP). ICCIFP is a not-for-profit corporation established to promote the highest standards of construction financial management through the credentialing of construction financial professionals.

Chris has been instrumental in the growth of HbK’s Construction Niche. He will also serve as a member of the Quality Control Group reviewing audits as well as serving as Audit Principal on accounts in HbK’s southwest Florida offices.

He worked in HbK’s Boardman, Ohio office for 10 years before transferring to HbK’s Stuart office. John is licensed to practice in Florida and Ohio.

John has extensive experience in the areas of financial reporting, taxation, business consulting and estate and trust planning. He provides accounting, tax and consulting services to high net worth individuals as well as a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional firms and non-profit organizations.

John resides in Palm City with his wife, Wanda. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, scuba diving, traveling and working out.

Stephen C. Schramm is a Principal in the Hill, Barth & King LLC Stuart office and has been with the firm since 2004.

Graduate of West Virginia University (Bachelor of Science/Accounting) and University of Florida (Masters of Accounting/Taxation), Stephen started his professional career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Orlando, FL and Denver, CO where he specialized in the real estate, manufacturing and financial institution industries. In 1992, Stephen established a public tax and accounting firm. The firm went on to obtain several multi-million dollar tax-service contracts with the federal government. In 1996, Stephen began emphasizing personal financial advisory services based on the belief that a client’s tax and financial issues are interdependent. He believes, and industry experts agree, that the future of the industry is to provide comprehensive services including tax consulting and preparation, investment advisory services and financial planning. Stephen’s extensive financial knowledge enabled him to become one of a small group of Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) who is also a Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS).

Stephen enjoys waterskiing, snow skiing, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife, Colleen, and their two children, Maclean and Katie.

Prior to joining the firms, Rita was President of Stikelether & Associates , P.A., certified public accountants in Fort Pierce. This is the second time Rita has been affiliated with HbK, as she was employed by the firm from 1988 to 1992 during which time she was appointed Principal of the firm.

Rita has extensive experience working with families and individuals as a CPA. She also earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to recognize CPAs who provide financial planning service. Rita spends significant time as a business consultant to privately held companies throughout the region. She has years of experience in financial planning and investment management.
