Alex is a Principal in the Long Island, New York office of HBK. He joined HBK in November 2023 with the merger of Zapken & Loeb, where he worked closely with the firm’s partners to expand the Audit and Accounting department. Previously, he worked for more than 20 years at regional accounting firms where, in addition to traditional accounting and assurance services, he handled peer review, quality control, research, and training.

Alex’s experience extends from conducting, supervising, and reviewing annual audits, to reviews and compilations for companies in a wide range of industries. His areas of focus include manufacturing and wholesale distribution, real estate and construction, technology companies, service organizations, and retail, as well as employee benefits plans. He has also participated in PCAOB inspections for broker/dealers. A multi-disciplinary professional, Alex provides tax services for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, and gifts, and foreign informational returns for corporations and partnerships. He has also been responsible for preparing judicial accountings for estates, trusts, and guardianships to be filed with respective state courts.

Alex served as the President and Treasurer of a condominium association in Queens, New York from 2013-2015, where he was instrumental in procuring financing to repair construction defects.
