Ryan Dormer, CPA, MBA

Ryan Dormer is a Senior Manager in HBK’s Boca Raton, Florida office, where he focuses on audit services with a specialization in the cannabis industry. With eight years of experience in public accounting, he has developed expertise in serving cannabis clients, including representing 15 of the 22 new vertically integrated cannabis licenses through his team’s work.

Ryan joined HBK in 2021 as a Senior and advanced quickly through the ranks, being promoted to Manager in 2023 and Senior Manager in 2025. He previously worked at regional and specialized CPA firms, where he gained experience with non-profits, mid-sized businesses, hedge funds, partnerships, and broker-dealers. He is a licensed CPA and holds both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA in finance from Florida Atlantic University.

In addition to client service, Ryan has contributed to firmwide innovation by championing the rollout of CoCounsel AI software and leading related trainings. He has also led Level 1 training programs for the past three years, reinforcing his commitment to developing staff and enhancing HBK’s capabilities.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. A longtime South Florida resident, he has lived in the area for more than 20 years with his wife. His professional goals include continuing to expand HBK’s Boca Raton office and growing the firm’s cannabis practice.
