In conjunction with its 70th anniversary celebration and acknowledgment of October as Breast Cancer Awareness month, HBK CPAs & Consultants (HBK) is launching a firm-wide fundraiser and awareness campaign in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The campaign will run from October 2019 through January 2020, and is a collaborative effort among team members across offices, geographic regions and service lines. Throughout the campaign, the HBK website will feature photos of HBK team members honoring loved ones who have fought or are fighting breast cancer.

America’s cities look a lot different today than they did seventy years ago. From televisions to computers and smart phones, technology has changed the way we live. Technology and innovation have also changed the way we work, from workplace diversity to a global economy, and with the onset of the Internet, remote employment and education. The U.S. and its communities are hardly recognizable compared to what they were in 1949.

That was the year of the founding of Hill and Hammonds, which later became Hill, Barth & King, and today is known as HBK. From a staff of nine in 1949, HBK has grown to family of firms comprising the following entities: HBK CPAs & Consultants, HBKS Wealth Advisors, HBK Valuation, Litigation & Forensics and HBK High Performance. HBK is consistently top-rated among leading accounting industry polls and comprises a team of several hundred professionals serving clients from offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Florida.

One constant over all that time has been HBK’s focus on community engagement as an important part of its culture and a cornerstone of its corporate responsibility. The firm supports charities in the communities it serves under the banner of HBK Cares. Each office commits to regional programs that meet the needs of their community and inspires their fellow HBK team members to action, including work with various non-profit, charitable and civic organizations, such as the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and, of course, the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“Seventy years ago, the leaders of this firm based their service on treating clients like they were family members,” says HBK Managing Principal and CEO Christopher Allegretti, CPA. “As we observe our 70th anniversary by supporting the fight against breast cancer, we remember and honor our colleagues, clients, family members, friends and associates who have fought and are fighting this difficult battle.”
