On Tuesday, March 24th, the IRS released an FAQ page on the extension for filing and paying Federal income taxes. The page provides some clarification on what is extended and what is not, including clarification that the extension applies to 2019 contributions to an IRA, which must be made by the due date of a taxpayer’s individual income tax return.
