Debbie is a forensic accounting expert with more than 30 years of experience in both corporate and public accounting. As Senior Manager of Forensic Services in the HBK Valuation Group (HBKVG), she leads complex investigations and litigation support projects from the Erie, Pennsylvania office, since joining the firm in January of 2014.
Her expertise spans a broad spectrum of forensic matters, including embezzlement investigation, divorce, hidden assets, insurance fraud, and economic damages analysis. Debbie works closely with legal teams, businesses, and individuals to uncover financial irregularities, assess damages, and offer expert testimony in criminal and civil cases. She is particularly skilled in cases involving asset misappropriation, tax evasion, fraudulent transfers, and financial statement fraud.
Debbie’s career in forensics began before it was a recognized niche in accounting. As a controller in the 1990s, her responsibilities included safeguarding company assets by implementing strong internal controls, transparent accounting, and expense accountability. Ten years later, a divorce case involving hidden marital assets revealed her innate talent for forensic accounting and sparked her passion for the field.
