Griffin is a Senior Manager in the Youngstown, Ohio office of HBK CPAs & Consultants. He began his public accounting career in 2013 before joining HBK in 2016. Griffin is the Regional Director of Western Pennsylvania of the firm’s Construction Solutions Group.

The Construction Solutions Group consist of a team of specialists with industry specific knowledge and experience that offer clients strategies and solutions that are customized to fit their unique business needs. Griffin has extensive experience in the areas of financial reporting, taxation, profit enhancement and business consulting with closely held companies. These businesses range from small, locally owned companies to large corporations. Griffin is a member of the Mahoning Division Builders Association, Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania, Construction Accounting Network and attends several national construction conferences to stay ahead of the industry trends and regulatory changes.

During his career, Griffin has gained expertise in accounting related work related to Construction through many applications. Among his industry distinctions are:

Evaluating and analyzing company benchmarks for contractors through various filters such as size of revenue of jobs, project manager analysis, location of job and duration of job. In one case resulting in a Company cutting revenue in half while doubling bottom line profit from the previous year

Supporting clients with cash flow projections and financial statement projections, including companies with annual revenues in excess of $50 million dollars

Helping companies analyze state and local income and sales tax filings requirements

Assisting contractors in obtaining state prequalification’s based on financial performance

Representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state and local taxing authorities

Evaluating and implementing strategies including cash vs accrual basis of accounting, S vs C Corp analysis, and cost segregation studies with construction clients
